Netherlands willing to join Iran’s agriculture
TEHRAN, May 10 (MNA) – Meeting with the agricultural officials and the private section investors of Iranian southern province of Fars, the Dutch economy minister proposed cooperation in irrigation technology with Iranians. “The Netherlands is willing to cooperate with the Islamic Republic of Iran in conveying the newest technology of farming during drought, and improving efficient water consumption during irrigation,” Henk Kamp, the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs said on Tuesday in his meeting with the officials and private sector investors in the agriculture industry of Iranian southern province of Fars.
During the meeting which was held in the capital city of the province, Shiraz, Kamp highlighted the issue of water as a global challenge and said that his country is willing to convey the newest technology in saving and managing water resources.
“Although the Netherlands is a small country, but it enjoys a good share of agricultural products in the international market and potato, tomato, and flower are the major export items of my country,” stated the Dutch official boasting that they have taken advantage of their universities to improve their agricultural technologies.
He continued that his country holds a humanitarian approach toward the issue and is ready to help sustainable development in small communities. Kamp voiced hope that both state and private sector in Iran help the expansion of this kind of cooperation.
